Side Trips and Add-On Experiences

Many of our guests at Wilderness Place Lodge choose to add on one or more short tours and experiences to round out their overall Alaskan adventure. Some of the most popular side trips we feature include sea plane flight-seeing or bear-viewing trips from Rust's Flying Service. These fly-out experiences vary from a few hours to a full day tour. Most flight-seeing side trips depart directly from Anchorage, although we have a few options including a Denali Flight-see that can depart directly from Wilderness Place Lodge. Bear-viewing trips are at least 1/2 day round-trip and must depart from Anchorage.

An exceptional experience to the surrounding Chugach wilderness is a one-of-a-king helicopter tour into remote glacial fields. We can hook you up with some amazing experiences via heli including hiking, fat tire biking, dog-sledding, paddling and more. The helicopter tour hub is approximately 1 hour north of Anchorage and we can bundle a round-trip shuttle from Anchorage if needed. We can add any helicopter tour to your existing itinerary if you plan an extra day in the Anchorage area. Many of the helicopter tours are bundled including overnight accommodations and meals at the Knik River lodge in our special adventure trip bundles.
