Rust's Flying Service is a well-established, well-known and dependable Anchorage air taxi service. Rust's is our sole float plane charter service and we are proud to work with this quality business with the friendliest and most senior pilots in the area. Rust's Flying Service is located on the southern shore of Lake Hood Seaplane base near the international airport in Anchorage, Alaska. Rust's Flying Service has provided Alaska air taxi services since 1963 and is renowned for safety, comfort and high level of customer service. Each of our fishing package rates include round-trip float plane charter from Anchorage utilizing Rust's Flying Service's fleet of Cessna 206, DeHavilland Beaver and DeHavilland Turbine Otter seaplanes. Rust's Flying Service also offers a number of flight-seeing adventures that we can also arrange for our fishing guests. Anchorage to Wilderness Place Lodge: Guests typically leave for the lodge from Rust's Flying Service at Anchorage Lake Hood (adjacent to Anchorage International Airport) at 11:00 AM. It is recommended for the fishermen to arrive in Anchorage on the day before their trip to the lodge. We are happy to help suggest convenient Anchorage hotels for lodging the night prior to your flight for our lodge. Upon your arrival to Anchorage the evening before your flight to the lodge, call Rust's Flying Service at (907) 243-1595 for a complimentary shuttle pick-up, which normally will by around 10:00 AM. The flight to Wilderness Place Lodge is approximately 45 minutes with arrival to the lodge right in time for lunch followed by afternoon guided fishing. For those who have planned a special adventure package with us, departure times from Anchorage may be on a different schedule. Your complete float plane schedule will be provided by us upon confirmation of your trip package.
Wilderness Place Lodge to Anchorage: On the last day of your trip you can fish and explore the majority of the morning hours. Packing your bags the night before helps maximize your time on the water the following morning. Rust's float plane arrives on the Yentna river approximately 11:30 and you can plan to depart the lodge at 11:45 AM, arriving back to Rust's Flying Service in Anchorage by 12:30 PM. It is best to allow a few additional hours in Anchorage before flying home from the Anchorage International Airport. We therefore suggest you book your commercial flight out of Anchorage no earlier than 3:30 PM. Rust's does offer complimentary shuttle service to Anchorage International Airport, a simple 5 minute drive from the float plane dock.
