Yes, what we sell is exclusive, all-inclusive adventure packages for small groups, mainly groups of 2-8 guests. Your adventure package is all your own. We are not a "tour group". There will be some other guests staying at the lodges you will visit, but for the most part, you plan your day as you please with your private guides. You have your own private accommodations and spend most of your time with your group or family.
Most of our guests choose to fly to Anchorage the day before the start of your package with us. From there, our packages are all-inclusive. We will give you a detailed itinerary showing the full plan for your adventure starting with Day 1 in Anchorage.
All of our bundled adventures are all-inclusive, round-trip from Anchorage. They bundle lodges, tours and activities all within remote wilderness areas, so they are ideal for those seeking the 'real Alaska" and natural places. We are not a road-system tour company. There are lots of those and they are fine for budget travelers and those that love being in large groups of other tourists. We include great lodges with amazing food and personal guides and your daily schedule is very flexible, so you do have control of your preferred regimen. Wilderness Place Lodge and The Alaska Adventure Company sell these adventures at a rate that is 50% less of the top-end adventure lodges in Alaska. Lastly, our packages are all available for 2 - 7 night packages and they are customizable. That in itself is very unique.
Great question! One of the very unique and awesome features of our adventure bundles is there is literally no "boring travel", no buses and no long stretches of lost time to travel from place to place. We mainly travel with float planes over wilderness areas, so there is no mundane transport from spot to spot during a trip with us. We also utilize helicopters and the Alaska Railroad depending on the package you choose.
Absolutely! The lodges, guided activities, flight tours, fishing, rafting, etc. is very safe and very comfortable and friendly for kids. We also integrate other kid-specific activities at our lodge and others to make the experience extra memorable for kids and parents. Ideally, for the best experience, we encourage kids 6+ as they will get the most out of our experiences.
